Once
again it will be a chaotical homepage. Ha, just one issue to talk
about, no way. There are plenty of things to tell
Beginning of October there was really nive weather and a marvellous
sight in Suzhou. So we made an exception and went to the north pagoda
instead of tiger hill as always ;-) The north pagoda is not really in
the north of Suzhou but in the town center, but hey, we're in China, so
what.
From the north pagoda we could also see the Horizon where we're living.
Wow. for the improbable cause, that you don't know where it is, Regina
gives a little hint.
The pagoda belongs to a temple, and around this time of the year there
is the grave cleaning. So a lot of people were around to burn some
small insence. Well it's the same like in the US: the bigger the better.
We enjoyed a cup of tea in the garden cafe of the temple in the sun, as
the other suzhounese did.
As a perfect end of the day we've been to the Li Gong Di for dinner and
a window shopping tour. And we got rewarded with a nice sun set and
full moon. Sigh.
Back to daily business. We managed to get a membership card for some
friends of us at Harry's bar. This was a event to be celebrated for
sure. Life music, couple of beers and just enjoying Suzhou.....
But that's it with the lousy life. Business visitors from germany came
over and we promised them to get the weekend managed. Not that they get
bored, no way. A long walk in the evening downtown, driving home by bus
mear to the hotel and then walking through the part. Just the dancing
we spared for them - this time.
Saturday we gave them the "Suzhou standart tourist program", which
means, going to Tiger Hill, taking the water taxi to Sholu for window
shopping. The weather was really nice, so we took another couple of
hundrets photographs. Happily the internet connections are pretty fast
now adays....
This time we managed to get a picture of the garbage boat. We're just
wondering, how long it takes to collect all this garbage out of the
canal.
Once again we're not allone at Tiger Hill. There was a lot of people
enjoying the sun. The only person we're missing is Mark. He really
loves Tiger Hill ;-)
All visitors are fascinated by the leaning tower of Suzhou. Some of
them that much, that they forget about milling in the nose or tourists
which immediatly assimilate to chinese behaviour.
And for sure there are plenty of Kids around. Chinese people love Kids.
They built some play-pen in the middle of the stariway just for them.
We also saw some people using the palanquin. Well, we were thinking
about but after looking more closely to the people carryin it, well....
From Tiger Hill down to Sholu in the water taxi is nice as always.
Watching people doing the washing in the canal waering Pajamas is
nothing to look twice for us, but the visitors.
Suzhou is also called the Venice of China. Well I think there are still
some differences. No singing Gondolliere for example or the stairways.
Back in Sholu again. Really amazing, that we explore all the time new
things here.
Eating and preparing food is very improtant here, so you find a lot of
different food on the street. And a lot of fresh food in cages, if you
like.
After the tourist program we took some tea and went later on for
dinner. The colleagues are thinking to move to Suzhou soon.
A visit on the pearl market is also mandatory if you're in Suzhou. And
christmass is also coming.
After the colleagues left, the next one - this time Stephan's big boss
- came to visit China. And after him some guys from Finnland. And then
Stephan has a business trip to Finnland and Germany, and so on. But
this is a completly different story.......
