Mai 28th is dragon boat festival in China. But
without dragon boats for us. As we found out a little late, there are
no dragon boat races on our house lake. OK, so let's enjoy the great
feeling of family and intimity in middle of a crowd. Let's go downtown.
A lot of things were going on there like English quiz or a drum
workshop.
The street sweepers are pretty busy at these days. The village shall
look nice and clean during the festival days.
It was really crowded downtown, hard to find a place to park the
e-bikes. And it's pretty hot also.
Too many people downtown, so let's try the time square. On the way to
it we stopped over to take a look to the art, we've seen quite often
but never took a closer look. And flowers watching. And we found a very
nice tricycle which isn't art but daily used by the gardeners here.
Each single flagpole has a sign, which flag it belongs to. Now we know
the chinese characters for Germany. The other pictures has something to
do with Feng Shui. But don't ask us, what sense it is. Building paths
to concrete walls or paint a roof in deep blue is ok, but if you'd try
to hang a picture to a wrong wall in your living room........
The art in the park is highly accepted by the Suzhounese, or at least
no body minds having a nap next to it.
Next stop modern Plaza. This is a complete new areal next to the SSCAC
(the theater). As you see, Suzhou isn't that far behind Dubai, Los
Angeles or Shanghai. Believe the Chinese.
Any more questions? If there are also Chinese people in this area? For
sure and in all ages. Including the suiting trousers.
Wow, this was a big load of fresh air today. As a perfect ending of the
day it would be great having a beer and maybe some BBQ. Coincidently
Massimo called and we had a spontanous BBQ party at their roof terrace.
Perfecto.....
This is by the way the same roof terrace where we'll watch the solar
eclipse on July 22. But this is as always a completely different
story.......
