Just back from Mogan Shan village, we went around the
hostel to catch some more photographs. That´s the view from
behind, also the open air shower cabin with included toilette and the
indoor bathroom.
Some people really snore that much
(only rumors), they get their own room, next to one of the verandas.
A Yuan needed all the help coming out of two mobiles to
light up the fire. Because for dinner we had another BBQ, this time a
real big one. Not only the guys from New Zealand has been thrilled.
For the fresh-spring-water-cooled-fridge, there is no
risk of power failure at all, so we could just relaxe and hang around.
Usually the hostel offers traditional chinese food. 3
Ayis are preparing the meals, they also take care of the house, clean
up, tidy up but they seem to be a little shy. They don´t want to
be on the photographs at all….
This hostel is made from and for mountain bikers,
that´s easy to notice as all the accessories in the bathroom are
actually bike equipment. Tires, bottle holder, a break handle …
Have you ever seen things like this before?
That's it? The long weekend is already over? Hard to
belief. On Monday we slept in, stayed for a relaxed lunch, then we
drove around to explore the area. We found some black covered
greenhouses to bred mushrooms in them. So hurry up and have a look
inside. Indeed, all sorts of fungi are growing on rotting wood stakes,
later on the mushrooms layed out in the sun to dry.
When this transporter filled with short pieces of bamboo
passed by, we had to follow the car to get to know, what's next in the
bamboo supply chain. The truck stopped at a hut surrounded by dust and
smoke and it smelled like a huge charcoal fire. And
surprise, surprise: it's a bamboo charcoal manufactory. Cool, isn't is?
Just opposite there was more of the beautiful bamboo
forest. And if you look close enough, you can see a traditional grave
on the first photograph.
We also enjoyed the trycicle towing the motorbike and the
telecommunication workers in the middle of nowhere. They found a nice
and comfy place out there. Stephan is still wondering, why he's in the
office all day.
While strolling around, we also found another bamboo
factory. Unfortunately we couldn´t discover, what they are
producing. But we´ve seen lots of golden canisters, might be oil
cans, maybe not, we will never know.
Those workers outside of the factory are most probably
the bamboo suppliers. What ever, they´ve been on a rest and had a
lot of fun with the 4 laowais and our cute red car. Quite sure,
they´re still talking about us for the next weeks......
In the last homepage we mentioned, there is no mechanical help for the
farmers. Well, that's not completely true. But we're quite sure, what
the german government would say if they ever saw a vehicle like
this on the german streets.
And this is China at its best. A tea plantation just next
to a factory with all the dusty air and dirty water. Is this the famous
Hangzhou Long Ching Cha? No thank you, I don´t take tea my dear.
Actually, cleaning the street, doesn´t make the tea any better.
And that’s it for now. On our way back to Suzhou we
had 33°C outside of the air conditioned car. The grand finale of
our journey was yummie ice cream at Coldstone. Oh no, we don´t
own 3 kind of Nikons, but our cameras made friends at the hostel, so we
had to take a family picture.
Back to Suzhou Reginas wallet reappeared, but that's
again a totally different story ….
